Those renderings are FUGLY!!! however they are also SUPER old. The yellow one is basically just a VE Commodore with a Pontiac-ified nose and the rear doors photoshopped off. Which is exactly what the 04-06 GTO was (except substitute a VY Commodore), but still haha. We'll have to wait and see how far they deviate from the Commodore on the G8/Grand Prix here in a couple days (it is supposed to be at the NAIAS). I'd imagine the GTO is gonna have the same basic design characteristics as the rest of the Pontiac line. GM is already gonna have ONE retro styled abortion... I don't think they'll be willing to risk TWO. Unless they are just THAT uncreative. But then the GTO that I know and love right now was born out of uncreativeness, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Yea alot of people disliked the looks of the New Age GTO when it was first announced. I personally had no trouble with it except the exhaust not exiting on both sides of the car and the lack of hood scoops...

Some people said that for this car to have hood scoops made it look cheap. Which I thought was laughable because many of the makes (BMW, Mercedes, etc.) they quoted as being much better car brands, also incoporate hood scoops on some of their most expensive models...

Nevertheless, I believe had the new age GTO orginally rolled out looking like the 2006 model with the apperance package. Then Pontiac (GM) would not had to ride the storm of ridicule because of their lack of insight.

I actually like the '04 hood. But that is also partly because I'm lazy and don't like scraping the polish and wax out of the little cracks. If people only understood what they were getting in a GTO also they would have done better too. Even the '04's. It's a tremendous amount of car for the money. The interior is on par with anything to come out of Germany, minus some of the more sophisticated climate controls and whatnot. But for $30,000 brand new, there was nothing that could beat it... on the drag strip or in the luxury department. But no one saw that... they just saw "Grand Prix." I love the '04's and almost wish I had one instead. After headers, a cam and heads, the differences between the LS1 and LS2 disappear anyway, save for the electronic throttle and 90mm TB (not that an LS2 needs a 90mm TB). The Monaro is an awesome car, and the Aussies were disgusted that we get the "stripper" model (no climate control, no sunroof, 17" Commodore wheels) for $15,000 (USD) less than they do... and we got an LS2 in it, when they couldn't get an LS2 for under $60,000 USD. I just wish we had some more of the options that the Monaro had, like the sunroof, climate control and such.
