| I actually like the '04 hood. But that is also partly because I'm lazy and don't like scraping the polish and wax out of the little cracks. If people only understood what they were getting in a GTO also they would have done better too. Even the '04's. It's a tremendous amount of car for the money. The interior is on par with anything to come out of Germany, minus some of the more sophisticated climate controls and whatnot. But for $30,000 brand new, there was nothing that could beat it... on the drag strip or in the luxury department. But no one saw that... they just saw "Grand Prix." I love the '04's and almost wish I had one instead. After headers, a cam and heads, the differences between the LS1 and LS2 disappear anyway, save for the electronic throttle and 90mm TB (not that an LS2 needs a 90mm TB). The Monaro is an awesome car, and the Aussies were disgusted that we get the "stripper" model (no climate control, no sunroof, 17" Commodore wheels) for $15,000 (USD) less than they do... and we got an LS2 in it, when they couldn't get an LS2 for under $60,000 USD. I just wish we had some more of the options that the Monaro had, like the sunroof, climate control and such. |
